Should hospitals source local produce?

I read today that nottingham city hospital has saved 6 million pounds by sourcing local produce. This seems an awful lot of money for one hospital to waste and they should be congratulated for their gumption to change. Most hospital food is bought in from China which seems ridiculous. Its so easy to see how we’ve got into a financial mess on a local level if sums like this can be saved.
